BENTON HARBOR, Mich.
If you have lost your job in retail or in banking over the past year, Michigan Works! has a solution for you. Michigan Works! was awarded a Dislocated Worker Grant aimed at serving eligible jobseekers with finding new employment or connecting them with local training providers for short-term certificate programs.
“With recent closures at Target, JC Penney, and other retail establishments, Michigan Works! recognized the need for additional services. This grant can help individuals who are looking to transition into a new field, while helping them develop the necessary skills toward a long-term career.” said Sam Gizzi, Talent Development Manager at Michigan Works! Berrien, Cass, Van Buren. “Our goal is to help individuals get additional training and find work here in southwest Michigan.”
The grant is being administered by Michigan Works! Berrien, Cass, Van Buren in partnership with the State of Michigan and the United States Department of Labor.
“If you think this is a good fit for you or someone you know, come see us! We would love to talk about a customized plan to help you achieve your goals,” said Gizzi.
